  1. Hi, I’m Heather’s friend I was inquiring about skittles. I am so interested. I would love to ask about testing that has been done on her and your heard. Has she been tested for CAE and the other two diseases that gots can get? Thanks so excited to here about skittles.

    1. Hi Darsy, our whole herd tested negative for CAE and Johnes in 2012, 2013, and 2014. I tested for CL in 2012 – all negative-but, given the lower reliability of that test and the fact that abscesses have not appeared in my herd or the herds I have bought from, I have opted to save my $ on that one in subsequent years.

Skittles was dam raised for the first 4 weeks, then bottle raised after that. She has been a very healthy girl, had a very easy kidding all on her own, and is up to date on vaccinations and Bo-Se booster. I use FAMACHA and fecal tests to monitor for internal parasites. She has always shown good color and low parasite load.

If you have any other questions, send me an email at SantiRidge@gmail.com.
      Thanks for writing!
